CRAwl Child Care Ready for All

Child Care Ready for All (CRAwl) is a hybrid training model that incorporates online learning and in-person skills training for childcare providers and families of children with significant healthcare needs.

These trainings are provided by nurses and focus on specific healthcare concerns and skills used within a childcare setting.

Parents and childcare providers can contact the CRAwl team to learn more about the services and trainings available.

CRAwl offers readiness training and support to childcare providers for:

  • Cardiac conditions (congenital heart defects)
  • Respiratory conditions (Cystic Fibrosis and Asthma)
  • Respiratory inhalers & nebulizers
  • Allergic reactions & Epinephrine pen use
  • G-tubes
  • Colostomies
  • Urinary catheters
  • Seizure disorders
  • Sickle cell anemia
  • Hemophilia
  • Neuromuscular conditions (Cerebral Palsy, Dystrophies, Hydrocephaly, VP shunts)
  • Diabetes

The CRAwl program is available statewide to parents and childcare providers caring for children with significant health needs.

Enrolling in CRAwl, Child Care Ready for All, offers child care providers appropriate training for responding and caring for the needs of children with a significant healthcare need in a child care setting. Here is how you can get started:


  1. Contact us to get started!
  2. We will reach out to assess the needs of the child in a childcare setting.
  3. Childcare providers working with the child will receive access to online training modules for the specific healthcare need.
  4. We will arrange an in-person visit with the childcare provider to practice hands-on skills.
  5. We will arrange a follow-up virtual visit to help with troubleshooting & questions.
University of South Carolina College of Nursing

The University of South Carolina, College of Nursing is a collaborating partner with the CRAwl program. The development of these programs were created in conjunction with the UofSC College of Nursing pediatric faculty, who were provided dedicated time to conduct research, promote program development, and cultivate community partnerships for commencement of this child health care program.
