We are pleased to offer online training modules for child care providers.

Providers working in programs in South Carolina will receive child care training credit for successful completion of the courses offered.

FREE Pyramid Model Online Trainings

In partnership with SC Inclusion Collaborative, SC Partnerships for Inclusion, the SC DSS Division for Early Care and Education, and Pro Solutions Training, we are excited to offer three Pyramid Model training eModules for anyone in South Carolina. Each training provides participants with curriculum and resources designed to promote healthy social emotional development within supportive classroom environments. Each course provides continuing education units or child care training credit approved by SC Endeavors. Trainings offered include: - Pyramid Model from Birth to Five, (18 hours) - Reducing Implicit Bias (2 hours), or - Trauma Informed Care (5 hours)

Developmental Screening Using the ASQ-3™

2 Hours
Professional Development

This course is designed to provide an overview of assessment, how to conduct developmental screening using the ASQ-3, how to interpret developmental screening results, communicate with parents about development, and how to make appropriate referrals. This course is being offered free of charge.

SC ASQ Online: Assessment to Inform Practice

2 Hours
Professional Development

This course is designed to be completed by child care teachers and administrators using the SC ASQ Online System in their programs. A special code is required to register for this course. If you do not have the code, please contact your program administrator or email asq@mailbox.sc.edu to request a code.

Communicating with Families About Developmental Concerns

This course is designed to provide an overview of the five major areas of development and developmental milestones by age group in each area. In addition, participants will learn how to identify developmental red flags, talk to parents about developmental concerns, and make appropriate referrals.

ADA Basics for Child Care Providers

This course is designed to provide an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act, specifically the provisions related to child care. In addition, participants will learn the benefits of inclusion, how to communicate with families, and how to develop an inclusive practices policy for their program. The course will also provide multiple resources should providers need assistance including a child with a disability in their program. The target audience for this course is child care owners, directors, and teachers.

ADA Basics for Child Care Monitors and Professional Development Providers

2 Hours
Professional Development

This course is designed to provide an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act, specifically the provisions related to child care. In addition, participants will learn the benefits of inclusion, how to communicate with child care providers about inclusion, and how to recognize recommended practices for inclusion. The course will also provide multiple resources should providers need assistance including a child with a disability in their program. The target audience for this course is ABC Quality monitors, Child Care Licensing monitors, child care trainers, and child care technical assistance providers/coaches.

ADA Basic for Families Making Child Care Decisions

This course is designed to provide an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act, specifically the provisions related to child care. Families will learn the benefits of inclusion for their child, how to communicate with child care providers about their child’s needs, how to recognize quality when selecting a provider, and gain access to a number of resources available in South Carolina to aid in their search. The target audience for this course is family members of children with disabilities or special healthcare needs who are looking for child care. PLEASE NOTE: THIS COURSE IS SPECIFICALLY FOR FAMILIES SEARCHING FOR CHILD CARE. THIS COURSE IS NOT APPROVED FOR CHILD CARE TRAINING CREDIT.
